Charity Champions Launches

WACO, Texas (July 8, 2014) — First National Bank McGregor today announced the launch of its new program entitled “Charity Champions” to benefit charitable organizations in the Central Texas community, while commemorating the bank’s 125th anniversary in 2014. The bank wants to celebrate this milestone by developing a new non-profit leadership program which will empower local charities for years to come. During the summer of 2014, six non-profits will be selected, and First National Bank McGregor will cover costs associated with a 360 Solutions executive training series held in early 2015 to further the organizations’ missions. Each of the six will also be recognized during one of the six Baylor University football games played at McLane Stadium during its inaugural season.

“As fortune would have it, the 125th anniversary of the bank and the historic opening of the new Baylor McLane Stadium happen to fall within the same year,” said Mike Beard, chairman of First National Bank McGregor. “Such a coincidence is cause for celebration and an opportunity to give back to the community that has treated us so well.”

To be considered as a First National Bank McGregor Charity Champions candidate, visit the program site charitychampions.org to register. To qualify, an organization must have a service office located in Bell, Coryell or McLennan county. First National Bank McGregor president David Littlewood explained that, through Charity Champions, the bank hopes to establish an endearing, community-based program that will help organizations already working to make a difference in our area.

“Our customers and the communities of Central Texas are the reasons First National Bank McGregor is still here after 125 years, and we want to continue to help meet their needs,” said Littlewood. “That always has been and always will be our mission, and it certainly remains the focus of our 125th celebration throughout 2014.”
